We are a family run bunch of foodies. We believe in honest, locally sourced food made from scratch.
Influenced by heritage, inspired by NY, Aldeli captures Manhattan's fusion of foods and cultures.
In short we're a little bit of this.. a little bit of that...

Meet The Team

Bubbly, full of beans and always looking after everyone, Ilana is Aldeli. Heart and soul of the place, she is the little brunette one pretty much here mon - sun 24/7. She also is in charge of organising and hosting amazing private hire events.

Olivia – still at school and studying for her A levels Olivia brings fun and excitement to the deli during the weekends. Olivia is the absolute milkshake queen – we usually have to pry the jar of sprinkles away from her! Weekends would certainly be dull without her!

Man do we love a lady in the kitchen with her feminine touch and playfulness, she is always experimenting with different flavours. Lee’s homemade Veggie burgers are like nothing you have ever tasted before - with a blend of spinach, chickpeas & Parmesan they are certainly one to try! At Aldeli we try to make everything from scratch – next time you are in you have to try our home made pickled cucumbers – a real authentic Swedish delight made from our delightful Swedish chef Lee.

Lover of all things creative, Emily is very artistic and loves to get involved in our children’s cupcake decorating parties. She's great with the kids and makes the prettiest cupcakes by far! Having her creative flare around the deli brings smiles to everyone’s faces.

Gill is a newbie to the Aldeli Team & is a real hit with all the kids. She can juggle the crazy after school rush hot chocolates & milkshakes like a total pro! At the same Gill works her magic in our ice cream bar and can recommend all the best flavours!

Another newbie to the team is Vikki. When she isn’t out front in the Deli she helps behind the scenes in the kitchen. She loves experimenting with Lee different vegan cheesecakes and delicious weekly sweet specials.

A bundle of fun and enthusiasm, Nelly is head of events at the deli. From dressing up for children’s parties to writing spooky stories at Halloween, Nelly is a hit with all the kids! She’s also a dab hand at latte art… this girl can do it all!

At Aldeli, we are always seeking passionate individuals to work with us either waiting on or kitchen staff. If you feel you have what it takes, please contact @aldeli.delicatessen@gmail.com or simply pop in with your cv for a chat.

Aldeli’s History

Mr Paul Higham, who originated from Iran and had studied engineering in England bought the site in 1960. In a short space of time (in collaboration with the total oil company designers Rochdale husband and wife architects Berkeley and Winifred Moir), Paul designed a space age fuel filling station and brand new car showroom. The design was very radical and ahead of its time which incorporated a cantilevered roof and circular futuristic flying saucer shaped building.

Paul was to be joined by two of his sons in the business and over the years has grown and developed having had a car leasing company based here and a ford main dealership.

In 2011 the car showroom was developed into a New York inspired american deli diner. The deli uses the unusual look of the building and enhances the futuristic feel of the building through its interior decor.

The building itself in 2012 became a grade II listed building due to the 1950/60s style arcutecture.

The back offices have been transformed into an ice cream parlor and kitchen. The ice cream parlour has been decorated with old photographs of Alderley Edge and the Highams business through the years as a means of remembering the many years the business has had at this location.

The Highams business has been a family ran affair for almost 100 years since 1919 and is planned to be passed onto further generations in the future.
